Mr. Handsome A Billionaire Romance(5)

I tried to act cool, even though I had plenty of reason to be confident and aloof, I couldn’t get over the fact that I was talking to a freaking Victoria’s Secret model.

“Yeah, I’m hoping to keep the modeling thing going, it gives me something to do…” I said almost lamely.

She quirked an eyebrow at me and smirked.

“Oh honey, modeling will give you plenty to do, especially with a face like that.” She winked at me and sauntered off to return her dresses to the other clothing racks.

“Alright, I was making fun of you before, but…man, are you going to have some gorgeous girls hanging around you.” Victor came up behind my shoulder and I nodded absently, still watching Sarah.

“Yeah, yeah, go and be with Nessa, I’ll catch you later.” Victor snorted and called me a prima donna before leaving. Sarah glanced behind her and saw me watching, she smiled and crooked her finger at me. Yeah, this would definitely be a great pastime.

“You have a really intense gaze you know, it does things to a girl,” Sarah said with a coy smile.

I shrugged and then winked at her playfully.

“Just using what I learned tonight is all.”

Sarah laughed and I glanced around the room. People were starting to pack up and head out.

“How about we go for a drink if you’re up for it,” I asked, framing it as less of a question and more of a suggestion.

Sarah seemed to like that as her smile widened.

“I like your style, a drink sounds nice. How about we save it until after, though.” Sarah took my hand and we headed outside. I led her to my car and had the driver take us home. Sarah rolled up the privacy window and climbed into my lap. She was quite eager to get things started and I wasn’t one to complain. By the time we reached the house she had come twice in my hand. Needless to say, we didn’t make it out to get drinks afterwards.

The following weeks after my first shoot were crazy, once the photos were released and the ads came out with my face on them, women recognized me everywhere. They threw themselves at me just as readily as Sarah did, some not even requiring any pretense beforehand.

Of course, I didn’t just sleep with every woman who smiled at me invitingly. I kept it safe and paced myself between lovers. Some women I’d have flings with for days at a time. Like Sarah; she often showed up at my place late at night, only wanting sex. Until she got bored of me, then I stopped hearing from her and seeing her altogether.

I learned that there were a few different types of women out in the world, not all wanted the hearts and flowers romance. Some just liked to keep guys at a distance. Others just wanted you for a night, and a few wouldn’t remember you in the morning. Then, of course, there were the star-struck ones, they tended to be clingy and I quickly learned not to lead those women on.

Armani liked me so much that they made a deal with me to be one of their regular models. The modeling was also not bad for Stargate; Rolling Stone, Forbes, and GQ wanted interviews with me since I was in the “public eye” and even Stargate’s pending deal with Ireland landed. The publicity brought some of Stargate’s greatest advancements in flight to the forefront and sold Ireland on us.

“Well, this modeling thing sure is working well for you, Jeff, aren’t you glad I suggested it?” Victor asked me while we were having lunch across the street from the Stargate building. There was this great deli that sold amazing Reuben sandwiches.

“Yeah, well, I’m just glad you’ve stopped laughing at me. A few pictures here and there have had more than enough benefit.” I chuckled and Victor did too, sharing a knowing smile.

“So what are you doing with the money you’re making?” Victor asked before taking a bite of his sandwich.

I shrugged dismissively.

“Giving it to a few charities and non-profits. It’s not like I need it,” I pointed out. Victor smiled at me almost like a proud older brother. We ate in comfortable silence for a few moments until Victor broke the silence with a bombshell.

“So…Vanessa and I are sleeping together.”

I choked on my sandwich and grabbed my water to chug down. I took several deep breaths and then looked at Victor head on, locking gazes with him.

“You and Vanessa are seriously a couple now?” I asked him in all seriousness. His gaze was unflinching and I saw that he really was growing feelings for her.

“Yeah, she’s…she’s amazing. Anyway, I just wanted to be upfront with you about it because I know you’re worried things could end badly. We are together and it’s serious,” Victor said plainly.

I sat back against the booth’s plush red seat.

“Alright then, just in case, Victor, let human resources know you’re in a relationship with her. I’m not saying it to be a dick, I’m just being careful.”

Victor nodded and waved his hand in both reassurance and dismissal. “Yeah, I understand, and I will. It’s no big deal.” Victor was cool with it and I allowed myself to be happy for him. A grin stretched across my face and Vic rolled his eyes at me.

“I’m sorry, but the last time you’ve been in a relationship was like two years ago. Vanessa is hot by the way, you could do a whole lot worse.”

Victor gave me a warning look. “Hey she’s mine, get your own. Anyway, with the amount of women coming after you now, when are you going to find the right one to settle down with?”
